Continue children's financial education journey with Ed and Bunny as they pay Mrs Mole for items on their shopping list. Using skills such as recognising, understanding and choosing the correct value of coins will support your child to learn how to handle money in every day life.

This activity follows on from Ed and Bunny Earn Some Money and can be completed after reading the storybook, which is available as a hard copy and in a variety of accessible formats (see related resources below).

This activity is part of our range of Money Heroes resources for children with special educational needs.

These resources have been adapted to be flexible for use in a range of settings and with children of varying abilities or special educational needs. Rather than using age groups or key stages, each activity has been given a difficulty level, based on children’s financial knowledge, skills and understanding. Practitioners should choose activities based on the financial capability level of the children they are working with.

This is an intermediate level activity – this level suits children who have some financial education knowledge and are beginning to understand simple financial concepts such as spending and saving.

This activity will offer children the opportunity to discuss where money comes from and help them begin to understand that money is a limited resource they will learn to manage. The activity asks pupils to help Ed and Bunny plan a day out using the money they have saved up, working out how much the trip will cost and what they could do on their budget.
